Embracing the Present: The Art of Mindfulness
The world we live in moves quickly and it can be easy to get swept up in the current. We often forget about all of the gorgeous moments that float around us. We are living either in a future worrying state or our thought is terrorized by thinking about the past. But recognizing this and, importantly, embracing the present and practicing gratitude can change all that around. It affects both your work perspective and life outlook as a whole.
Every moment holds potential. Judging the world opens the door to a universe of beauty and astonishment. We have to be present in order for it to come through. The little things like breathing and feeling the coolness of air in our lungs can be a whisper. Life is not only fragile, but it has an embarrassment to being beautiful. By embracing the present, the whispered melody of singing birds and the caress of sunshine on our skin enrich our lives. Additionally, the echo laughter emitted from a rushing crowd — These are all gifts which enrich our existences in ways most take for granted.
Equally Important and Processing with the chaos Life is just inherently unpredictable, and strange things happen. Rather than pushing against these chaotic elements, we can embrace them as constituents of the tale line. We free ourselves from the chains of control and allow room for laughter, spontaneity. Embracing the present can make us use each challenge as catalyst to expand in resilience and adaptability.
It is an intentional practice…of mindfulness, meditation or just sitting in silence. When we shift our perspective to see things from the “now”, that is when gratitude and appreciation for all aspects of life spring forth. This happens even amidst chaos. This is a core part of embracing the present.
It is another way of saying — every single fraction really counts. So when we slow down, breathe, and appreciate all the beauty in our life as well as live through chaos — it gives us more contentment. Embracing the present is how we show who we really are to our friends and family. It helps in making memories that last a lifetime. Take a breath, pause for the moment, and allow each inhale to remind you of your amazing journey.
