Beautiful thing about the Unconventional Paths
If we compare life to a journey, what better way than this one full of unexpected turns and decisions that either take us deeper or make the best experiences? Sometimes, the obvious road is not always the best; It means having faith in our intuition, and understanding that it may even lead us down some unforeseen paths.
Intuition is a powerful tool. It speaks to us gently, suggesting we move off the beaten path and try some other way. That internal dialogue can counteract pressures from society or urge us towards entering a situation we know has potential risks (as long as the reward is worth it). Those moments when we make the choice to heed this intuitive guidance can throw us onto some amazing journeys that seem completely out of what is comfortable or predictable.
Recall a particularly unconventional move you made. Maybe you took an unlikely career direction, visited one of the less familiar parts of Europe or tried out something that other people might not assume would be ”you”. What was transformative (but unknown to me at the time) about any of these sets off choices. Through that leap of faith, we beyond a shadow of doubt engage parts hidden in us waiting to surface, Reach out and connect with some people who are part our life journey…and yes gain knowledge unexplored if we continued within the cocoons.
Also unconventional paths build resiliency. We learn how to adjust and adapt when the unexpected curve ball comes our way. Every corner is a lesson, either developing confidence in our judgment or merely confronting and redefining our fears. Such experiences are what provide us the personal growth that leads to a well-rounded picture of life.
In the end, though walking a linear path is attractive because it offers predictability, we may come to our purest of selves in exploration. Opening ourselves up to the unknown allows doors of infinite possibilities and adventures that are as vast as we each are. The next time you need to make a decision, let your intuition take the wheel. Instead, you may find the ultimate destinations lie off the beaten path.
