Letting Go of the Past: Embracing the Present Moment
If there is anything that our 21st century lives has to offer, it is the whirlwind of past regrets and future anxieties. A lot of us replay the choices we made in years past or fret about what is to come. But living in the now is necessary for personal development and mental health, as well as happiness all three reasons to live life today.
The Weight of the Past
It can be hard to make the most of living in each moment with old mistakes, regrets or emotional pain weighing on your back. Every time that you are in the past is a moment that takes away from all of the potential happiness and enjoyment in your current situation. Although the chickens are vital , we cant tie our success to them as well or it would stop us from moving forward. After all, they always say that the past is a place there for reference only and not to live in. If we are able to see that this unhealthy pattern is all in our minds, it can be a profound vehicle for letting go of emotions and feelings.
The Power of Now
Life happens in the now. This is the present moment that has joy, connection with others and new opportunities for us. This will help us enormously to be able to enjoy the NOW as we practice mindfulness and bring our current thoughts, feelings, surroundings into full awareness. Taking the time to sit down with a cup of coffee, read one chapter in that book you have been wanting to get through or walks where we can embody our conversations do wonders for him.
Steps to Embrace the Present
- Implement Mindfulness: What do I mean by this — Well, mindfulness is essentially just being present in the moment so that you can recognise when any feelings of anxiety start to arise.
- Keep a Gratitude Journal: Spend time each day to write what you are grateful for, list the enjoyments in your life that moment.
- Limit Distractions: Shut off your phone, shut off ze televison and get lost in the moment.
- Intention Setting — Develop daily intentions that coincide with your values and remind you to practice mindfulness by living intentionally.
To sum it up the faster we can drop all of our baggage and experience each moment as a fresh new way , is how fast your life will become abundant. When we focus on here and now, a world of opportunities open to us door leading the way towards building a healthy relationship with growth and joy! Every single moment is an opportunity for us to be alive and awake — let’s take it.
