Who Are You Thankful For?

Saying thank you is connected to the richness of our lives and creates deeper connection with others. It is important to take a moment to consider the ones in our lives who bring us joy, those whom we can lean on when things get tough , and that push us toward betterment. Amidst our daily chaos, we tend to forget the importance of being grateful. So, who are you thankful for?

Think of your friends who have been with you through thick and thin. These are the people we often turn to when in need of a listening ear or comforting words. They are always loyal and understanding of the journey that is called life. When we appreciate our connections, then it lets them know how they contribute to making us who we are.

Family is another major wellspring of thankfulness. Be it the parents who gave up so many things for us, siblings with whom we had our crazy childhood journeys or extended family members from home town who give their ways of life message. Thanking them will be able to renew family connections and cause strong feelings of family. But a simple thank you or random act of kindness may be all that is needed to express gratitude.

And of course the mentors and teachers who have helped us break through at different stages. These are the people who light our sparks, change how we think or believe and throw us a rope off our changing cliffs. The faith they hold in us pushes us to do better and it is important for us to realize the trade-off on their side.

And with the closeness besides, we need to sit back a little and think about some casual interactions that have uplifted us. Maybe the smile from a stranger on an otherwise hard day, or words of encouragement when you are dealing with that difficult project. They are a tangible way that we can show our gratitude in the smallest of ways.

Essentially, being grateful bettering our health and creates a positive space in which we attend to live. Here is a challenge for you today: who should YOU thank? And thank your loved ones, and those rare people with whom you share a true bond for simply…being.
